November 26, 2024 – TechConnect, on behalf of the U.S. Navy, announces selected presenters for the Call for NAVSEA Energy Storage Solutions. These innovators will showcase their energy storage technologies at the Defense TechConnect Innovation Summit on December 4 in Austin, Texas. Chosen for their potential to address critical U.S. Navy and national security needs, these solutions offer advanced capabilities in energy storage and military battery technology, targeting both current and future supply chain challenges.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division sought advanced energy storage solutions that not only push the envelope of technological innovation but also offer scalable, dual-use applications to enhance operational readiness. Areas of specific interest fell into three categories, including: zero-volt tolerant fast charging batteries, low temperature re-chargeable batteries, and supply chain resilience innovations for energy storage. Chosen presenters represent 16 of the nation’s most forward-thinking companies and researchers.
The finalists will pitch their solutions live at Defense TechConnect Innovation Summit, showcasing their advancements to an audience of top defense, government, and industry stakeholders before taking private meetings with NSWC, Crane. The event represents a valuable platform to gain visibility, secure partnerships, and connect with the nation’s largest network of emerging technology funding opportunities aligned with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) mission-critical goals. For these finalists, it is further valuable for its connection to decision makers at US Navy over specific projects in these subject areas.
Qualified participants are eligible to apply for membership with the Expeditionary Missions Consortium – Crane (EMC²), offering ongoing access to initiatives and funding that support expeditionary mission technologies essential to national defense.
“We are excited to see how these advanced energy storage solutions may be able to meet the unique needs of the U.S. Navy. Innovation in this space is essential for ensuring that our armed forces have access to reliable, cutting-edge technologies, especially in the face of evolving supply chain demands and mission requirements,” said EMC2 Program Manager Brenda Roush.
“TechConnect’s mission is to catalyze innovation for positive change, and it does this through connection-creation, often at its events such as Defense TechConnect,” said TechConnect vice president Matthew Laudon. “We are proud to provide a platform for these promising innovators to engage directly with the Navy where they can chart a successful and enduring course toward energy storage that we can all share.”
