Background

Understanding drivers of consumer satisfaction with food and satiation requires insight from a broad spectrum of disciplines and sciences. Our client, Mondelez, seeks to harness those insights through collaboration with experts working at the convergence of behavioral science, consumer research, and nutrition. Increasing satisfaction with a defined portion size can be a powerful tool to limit overconsumption in consumers. This can be achieved by studying two aspects of food behavior: factors influencing satisfaction with food as well as the impact that mindfulness practice might bring to the sensation of fulfillment and satisfaction with food. The goal is to utilize that knowledge to deliver satisfying snacks with suitable portions for adults

Mondelez seeks to engage U.S.-based professionals with knowledge and experience in various areas of consumer food satisfaction including:

  • Defining and analyzing parameters driving satisfaction in food associated with eating behavior and portion size
  • Sensorial and/or nutritional aspects which influence feelings of satiation and satisfaction to decrease portion size
  • Impact of mindfulness on perception of satisfaction
  • The interdependence of physiological, psychological, and cultural aspects of eating

Data on these areas of interest could be gained through various methods such as detailed observational studies or quantitative sensor measurements. Expertise gleaned from focus groups is not of interest.

Ideal respondents will likely be academic researchers specializing in the psychological and physiological aspects of consumer food satisfaction. Responses from commercial organizations are also of potential interest to Mondelez.
