BioCity Scotland and Dundee University will be home to a new screening center.

The investments will come from the European Innovative Medicines Initiative, Scottish Funding Council, the Scottish government, and pharmaceutical partner companies.  It is expected that a team of 30 international partners will focus their research projects on chemical compounds to form the foundation for new, breakthrough medicines.  First Minister Alex Salmond noted in the release that the new center will be “putting Lanarkshire and Dundee at the heart of international drug discovery.”
