TechConnect and the National Innovation Summit will come together next year to accelerate the commercialization of American innovation.
TechConnect World, the world’s largest annual innovation conference and marketplace for innovators, technology business developers, and investors, will be co-located in 2013 with the National Innovation Summit and Showcase (NISS), May 12-16 in Washington, D.C.
In support of the White House and Congressional call for innovation commercialization initiatives, the National Innovation Summit and Showcase delivers the world’s largest showcase of the Nation’s top innovations supported through federal funding programs. “Through our partnerships with the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, National Institutes of Health and the National Institutes of Standards and Technology, we feature the nation’s top innovations ready for commercialization, such as licensing, investment or corporate co-development,” notes Dr. Matthew Laudon, CEO of TechConnect.
All showcasing innovations are “industry vetted” by the TechConnect Advisory Committee, and qualified technologies participating in the TechConnect Accelerator program, matching innovations with leading investment and corporate partners.
“The National Innovation Summit is specifically designed to allow for ‘industry’ to pick winning technologies from an incredible pool of federally funded emerging technologies,” notes Dr. Laudon. “Simply put, we partner with leading corporations, investors, and federal agencies to accelerate the commercialization of American innovation.”
The National Innovation Summit and Showcase is inviting the participation of key agencies to showcase federal initiatives and their top commercially viable technologies. Participation is open to global innovations; however, federally funded innovations will be tracked by TechConnect to quantify commercialization successes from the matchmaking program with investment and corporate partners.
